The Importance of Flossing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You may be wondering why flossing is such a big deal if you brush your teeth regularly. The truth is that brushing alone only gets about 70 percent of your teeth clean. There is still about 30 percent of their surface you can\u2019t reach without dental floss. Furthermore, harmful bacteria can enter the gums at the gum line, so clearing them away from between your teeth can help lower your risk of gum disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Floss<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now that you know why your child should be flossing, it\u2019s time to teach them how. If they are around six or seven years old, they should be able to follow these steps on their own once they get the hang of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
